Payday – Joanne Spencer

poems

Payday

Backed up
jet lagged
corpses line the parade of
rampant serfs at the bank.
All starving for a
palm of papyrus,
and inkwell
feather to shift the
earnings to someone,
someplace else.

Joanne Spencer’s work has appeared in Woman’s World, Sick Lit Magazine, Mother’s Always Write and she has an upcoming poem to be published in Wildflower Muse. She is currently working as a contributing journalist for her town’s local publication, The Creekline, as well as writing reviews for The Review Review.
